I was born around the 2000’s and I remember hearing her music on the radio but I never pictured her I didn’t know her but I thought at 6y old, “Wow she sounds amazing” I only got introduced to Selena by my Sister 2-3 years later, I remember asking my sister “Selena Gomez?!” She told me “No silly! Selena” and I asked her who was Selena and she immediately played Como la Flor video in the Houston Astredome (idk how to spell 💀) and I go “I HEARD THAT SOMG ON THE RADIO!!” She was impressed but then I asked, “What if we can meet her??” My sister stared to cry “ No it will never be possible, she’s… dead.” (She all announced this in Mexico) I look at her in disbelief and wine to her “What?!?! not possible she’s too pretty, talented, and looks kind.” She answered “I know”. Ever since that moment I saw Selena in that video I continued my journey in knowing more abt Selena and her music I soon found out so much it would make me sad, but by knowing so much I ended up in Corpus Christi in her museum, statue, and grave site. It was sad for me but all Ik is that museum, statue, and grave site will be the only thing I will get to in knowing her never meeting her. She was the type that was kind,beautiful,amazing,talented, and much more. All I want to say is I love y’all take care thank you for reading my story and if It doesn’t make sense some part tell me!

I'm from Corpus Christi & still live there...she lived in the neighborhood my grandparents live on in Molina her house is a about 2 blocks away...i used to pass by her house everyday when i went to school at West Oso in the early 2000s....my mom went to Jr high with her too.... it's crazy how till this day people still idolize her even after 29 years... she's been dead longer than she's been alive... she's made good hits but she's human like everyone else..theirs literally nothing special about her smh

The you so much for sharing this with all of us who can't make it to Corpus Christi . I'm reminded of the amazing sense of fashion that Selena always had . She was so tiny . My gosh it was amazing to see her perform in a lot of the clothing . I think my favorite will always the purple one she wore at Houston Astrodome concert . Selena is a legend and always will be. I really believe she would've been bigger then Madonna .

My first trip to Corpus Christi, I went to see her museum, her grave, and her statue, I remember feeling sad when I went to her grave, like I didn’t want to leave, I was born three years after she died, since I saw the movie, and heard the Anthology album, I became a fan, and have always wanted to meet her, and I felt that was as close as I was ever going to get😢
